Updating the Nodinite LDAP Web API

In this section, you will learn how to Update the LDAP Web API.

The Nodinite LDAP Web API has no installer, hence, the update steps must be manually performed.

Stay up to date- The LDAP Adapter is a software product under constant development and new features and bug fixes will be added over time. New releases are regularly available and free download and usage is covered by your SA (Software Agreement).

We strongly recommend that you plan for future updates in the context of your existing ALM process.

Before you begin

Make sure all client/consumers have been informed. The update process requires a full stop and you will have some down time. Make sure to perform the update during a planned maintenance window.

REMEMBER TO MAKE A BACKUP OF THE INSTALLATION FOLDER BEFORE YOU REPLACE ANY FILES!!!!

Step 1: Stop Application Pool

The first step to do is to stop the Application Pool for the IIS Application hosting the LDAP Web API.
Use the Internet Information Server (IIS) Manager.

inetmgr.msc

Then, stop the Application Pool:
Stop

Step 2: Update Content

You can now update the binaries and the Configuration if there are any changes that require so. The default path, as documented in the Installation is C:\Program Files\Nodinite\LDAP Web API

Installation Folder

Simply replace the binaries. Make sure the appsettings.json file is NOT replaced.

Step 3: Start the Application Pool

Now that the binaries have been updated and the configuration is valid, you can now start the Application Pool:
