Easily view and manage artifacts with selected BizTalk Server Application

What's being evaluated for 'BizTalk Application'?

The 'BizTalk Application' resource of the BizTalk 'Health Check' Category has no thresholds and acts as a placeholder so you can access all the associated artifacts using the Actions button.

The evaluated state is provided by the table below:

What remote actions are available?

Details

Use the Details modal to get all the information about the BizTalk Application.

Click the Actions button and click on the Details menu item to view the details page.

In the very top you will see the name of the selected BizTalk Server Application. Next, you can see the current status followed by some Action buttons to help you manage the state of the selected BizTalk Server Application.

Start options

From the Start button there are different options to start the BizTalk Application:

Click the Start button to display the different start options

  • Start all - Simply ask all Resources within the BizTalk application to start. Nodinite will start them in the correct order.
  • Advanced - Expand start options

If you select the 'Start all' option you will be prompted to continue with the operation:

Advanced option

If you select the 'Advanced' option a panel will appear:

This panel will be displayed with different options depending on the actual artifacts that exists within the BizTalk Application

Check the options you want and then click on the 'Start with selected options' button. You will now be prompted to confirm the operation:

Stop options

From the Stop button there are different options to stop the BizTalk Application:
Stop options

  • Minimal Partial Stop - Allow running instances to continue
  • Partial Stop - Suspend running instances
  • Full Stop - Terminate instances

Minimal Partial Stop

Disables receive locations and allows running instances to continue (complete).

If you click on this alternative you will prompted to confirm the operation:

Partial Stop

This operation will perform multiple tasks:

  • Disables receive locations
  • Stop all orchestrations
  • Unenlists and stops and send ports
  • Running instances will be suspended

If you click on this alternative you will prompted to confirm the operation:

Full Stop

This operation will perform multiple tasks:

  • Disables receive locations
  • Stop all orchestrations
  • Unenlists and stops and send ports
  • Running instances will be Terminated

Application details tab

This is the default tab when you open Details for the selected BizTalk application. In this tab, you can see if the selected BizTalk application is the current default BizTalk application.

You can also manage the Description for the selected BizTalk application. Do remember to click on the Save button to persist any changes.

Last you will find references both from and to the selected BizTalk application.

Orchestrations tab

From within the Orchestrations tab, you are presented with a list of Orchestrations for the selected BizTalk Server Application.

The display order is descending on the column Last modified. This is really helpful giving you information when something was changed

BizTalk does not have the information about who did the actual change since the MMC does not have anybuilt-in audit logging. If you are using Nodinite all sensitive and modifying operations are being Log Audited.

New 6.0.0.27 The new Audit feature is compatible with all versions of BizTalk Server 2006-2020. If you perform the changes in BizTalk using Nodinite and the Audit feature is enabled, end-users have insights about what change was made and by whom and the time of the event.
