Troubleshooting the Nodinite Log File Parser Monitoring Agent

TIP

The Nodinite Log File Parser Monitoring Agent monitor the content of text-based files according to the User Configuration. If your requirement includes the monitoring of any of the following:

  • Are there too many files?
  • Are there too large files?
  • Are the files being created/updated/deleted according to the design?

Then, you can use the Nodinite File Monitoring Agent to perform time-based and count-based monitoring of files.

How do I add Log File Parser Monitoring with Nodinite?

Adding an arbitrary number of log files to monitor for content for Nodinite to monitor, is a very simple and straightforward process and requires only proper access rights. Just follow the steps detailed in the Configuration user guide.

Where does the Log File need to be?

Currently, the Nodinite Log File Parser Monitoring Agent validates files in Windows Folders and SMB shares. If you have the need to verify/validate files from other sources like NFS or FTP, then please submit a feature request to our Support.

What access rights are required?

The account used to run the Nodinite Log File Parser Monitoring Agent as a Windows Service must have read access to the folder(s) with log files. This is detailed in the Prerequisites for Log File Parser Monitoring Agent user guide.

NOTE: Please review the Logon as Service Right user guide.

What type of files can be monitored?`

The Nodinite Log File Parser Monitoring Agent is designed to help detect content related problems from arbitrary text-based files using one or more RegEx expressions.
