Mule ESB Logging Overview

Nodinite provides two different approaches to enable logging from Mule ESB flows.

  1. Mule ESB - Custom Connector - This is the recommended option, and if you choose this option, then the Mule ESB Logging Agent is not needed at all since you will then be using the Nodinite Pickup Service instead
  2. Using built-in logging shapes - NOT recommended

The Mule ESB Logging Agent uses the output from the Log4J framework (2nd option) to retrieve context and message body from Mule ESB Flows running either in on-premise and/or in the cloud. Configuration of Log4J is described here.

The required code is written within the Mule Flow(s).

To correlate messages within Mule Flows a session variable must be configured, review the 'How do I correlate logged events?' user guide.
