Add or manage Alarm Plugins

Use the Nodinite Alarm Plugin to send alarms and notifications to end-users according to either the global configuration, or use the custom settings available from within Monitor Views.

General tab

Nodinite features Alarm Plugins to send Alarms to end-users. There are some read-only properties, and there are some other manageable properties.

Stylesheet Select the Stylesheet to use sending alarms with this Alarm Plugin.
Some Alarm Plugins support the use of Stylesheets and from Nodinite you can manage which Stylesheet should be used during run-time. This is a very powerful feature and means that you can provide user-defined layouts for your alerts.

Configuration tab

The available Alarm Plugin has different configuration options. There is a specific configurations user guide available for each Alarm Plugin:

Control - Test Alarm Plugin

From the Web Client, the Nodinite Administrator can test and verify the Alarm Plugin using the current settings. Click on any of the buttons to trigger the test:

  • Execute Alarm Test - Writes a negative trigger (The Alert is in the Error state)
  • Restore Alarm Test - Writes a positive trigger (The Alert is in the Ok state)

The result should appear in the destination for the Alarm Plugin. The output from the Event Log Alarm Plugin is written to the Application Event Log on the server hosting the Monitoring Service.

Delete

You can remove the Alarm Plugin by clicking on the Delete button. Deleting an Alarm Plugin means it is no longer available for configuration from within Monitor Views.

The Alarm Plugin is not deleted from the system and you can Restore it later.

In the dialogue, either confirm or abort the requested action.

Save

You must click on the Save button for changes to be written to the Event Log Alarm Plugin and take effect.
Save and Close buttons
Save options.

NOTE: The delay in presenting the new evaluated state depends on the synchronisation interval set for the monitoring agent. Click the Sync Now button to force an immediate synchronisation.

Save - Saves the current changes, browser refreshes content and stays on current page.

Save and close - Saves then closes the dialogue returning the browser to the previous page.

Close Close the dialogue without saving any changes.
