Application Roles are used within Log Views and Monitor Views to grant business Roles access to Nodinite. There is a specific article for the 'What is a Role' topic. Make sure to read and understand the basic concepts before continuing.
Role Overview with the list of defined Roles
The available functionality for Managing Roles are:
- Add new Role
- Edit existing Role
- Delete Role
- Restore deleted Role
- Filter the list of Roles
- Copy API URL for use in custom [Reports]
To Edit an existing Role simply click on the link in the Name column or open the menu from the "Actions" button and click on the "Edit" menu item.
Click 'Edit' menu item to edit an existing Role
To Delete an existing Role open the menu from the "Actions" button and click on the "Delete" menu item.
Click 'Delete' menu item to delete an existing Role
To Restore a deleted Role you must first check the "Show deleted Roles " checkbox.
When checked deleted Roles will be included in the list*
Then open the menu from the "Actions" button and click on the "Restore" menu item.
Click 'Restore' menu item to Restore a deleted Role
To Export an existing Role open the menu from the "Actions" button and click on the "Export" menu item. This will open the Nodinite generic [Export][ImportExport] wizard.
Click 'Export' menu item to open the Export Wizard
From the "Copy API URI" modal you get the underlying REST API call that was made against the [Web API]. Simply click the "Copy API URI" to open the modal to get the query string.
Nodinite promotes the use of custom [Reports]
You can create new, edit and delete Roles using the Nodinite Web Client.
